YBOA Comets Spring Shootout [#3902]

Welcome to the YBOA Comets Spring Shootout tournament event and Tallahassee, Florida!  Thanks for joining this exciting competitive basketball event.  YBOA/Comets wish all teams the best of luck and hope you enjoy your stay.  We want to make your participation an enjoyable and rewarding experience.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our tournament management staff.  (See attachment for more coach’s information and please share with all teams, players, and parents.) 

Game Schedules

  • Scorbot.com will systematically text team head coaches their team’s first game time and location.
  • Game schedule times are local to Tallahassee, which is EST!  Please check back often until the event starts for any schedule updates or revisions to ensure that your team has the latest copy of the schedule and provide game schedule information to all coaches and families.  Game time is forfeit time!  Please arrive at least 45 minutes prior to your scheduled game. Games will start ahead of schedule within a 15-30 minute window of game time if gym court is ahead of schedule.  All tournament rules are subject to the discretion of the tournament director/event management.

Code of Conduct

  • All spectators, parents, coaches, and players are expected to display the type of conduct which always promotes good sportsmanship. Coaches are expected to impress upon their athletes the importance of displaying good sportsmanship before, during, and after games. Coaches must set the example of good sportsmanship for their players both on and off the court.

SPORTSMANSHIP – Give Respect – Get Respect!

  • Coaches, players and spectators must exhibit good sportsmanship during the tournament by showing respect for teammates, coaches, opponents, officials and event staff. Good sportsmanship supports the values of the game, and our goal is to promote healthy competition in a positive and safe environment. Coaches are ultimately responsible for the behavior of their players and spectators. However, event management reserves the right to have a team forfeit a game or to have e team suspended from the tournament if the coaches, players or spectators become unruly and/or unmanageable.

Mandatory Home Team Requirements

  • Home team will provide a person to maintain the official game books (game sheets provided by event management) and game basketball.  Event management staff will maintain the game clock.

Team Check-in & Team Book

  • Coaches, check-in will be at the gym location of your first game and failure to check-in before second game will result in a forfeit.  Coach admission bands will only be issued at team check-in, and players are not required at check-in.
  • Coaches are required to have team books (team roster, copy of player’s birth certificates, and current school year report cards) at all times to verify the grade/age of each team’s participating players. Failure to check-in and produce information to verify players age/grade upon request will result in forfeiture of game(s) played.

General Admission

  • Cash only accepted and paid by all participants except event management, coaches, and players.
  • Wristbands are provided and must be presented to enter gym facilities.
  • Players must be in uniform to enter the facility.
  • No refunds are allowed for patrons being expelled from any facility.

Gym Facilities:

  • Gym facility owners control the temperature and humidity.  Some would consider the temperatures chilly, therefore everyone is encouraged to dress as appropriate.
